There are some really great books out there for learning Japanese but these are some of my personal favorites (on Amazon):
italki: Create a free account and have look at the unbelievable amount of Japanese teachers available for low cost.
Some Japanese teachers on italki are so cheap it will shock you.
Mondly: An amazing and comprehensive app for learning Japanese (and many other languages). Covers loads of relevant Japanese topics and is beautifully designed.
Babbel: One of the most popular and well-known apps for learning Japanese and other European languages. Superior to Duolingo in every way.
Pimsleur Japanese: One of the biggest household names in language learning. It's been around for decades and is still one of the greatest Japanese introductory courses ever made (audio only).
